Abstract: Multiscale Modeling and Simulation is an emerging field widely recognized by various (e)-science communities. Providing adequate and efficient multiscale computing environments for (e)-scientists is one of the major challenges of this field. A synergy between the multiscale modeling community, which sets theoretical foundations of this field, and the software engineering community seems to be a step towards addressing this challenge. In this ongoing work we propose a development methodology aiming to bridge the gap between approaches used by (e)-science communities to develop their modeling frameworks and model driven engineering approaches used to develop modeling frameworks with similar complexity.
